What Direction Should I Go In?

It's hard to believe that this blog is five years old. Wow time sure does fly. As the summer comes to an end and thoughts of fall loom so does the idea of change. Four Eyes One Internet has grown. Since 2009 I have been measuring the traffic to this blog. And it has grown and hopefully will continue to grow.

In the first year 572 page loads today 940 and counting. The unique visitors that come to the site has also increased. In 2009 424 today it is at 771 and climbing with 758 of these being first time visitors. The returning visitors section needs a little pumping up, the average is 15. Hmm got to think of a way to make the blog go viral.

As for the visit times the log is measured in 4 month segments. I have not decided to increase the log size just yet as the blog is not revenue driven. That said in the past 4 months 10.3% of you who visited stayed on the site for a period ranging from 30 seconds up to 5 minutes. Not bad. This range covers April to July. The total amount shows 38 visitors, with 35 being first time visitors.

So there you have it a picture of how the blog is doing. By the way since the counter was added. 2,272 page loads have been served up, with 1,816 of these coming from unique visitors and 1,772 of these were first time visits. A special thanks of course goes to the 44 returning visitors. I am glad that you have come back to read the blog.

So the change. What should it be? What kind of focus should the blog take. I am going to ad a poll here and am asking those who visit this site to pick from a list and help influence the direction of the blog. Your input will help me decide the next evolution for Four Eyes One Internet. The goal here is to create a following.

The poll will be open from now until the end of the month and at that time the new format will be determined. It may be a combination of the top 3 choices or a move to a complete and new type of blog. So with that in mind I leave you to read the poll and make your choice. Comments are also welcome.
